hair and make-up artists. It includes commissioned work, articles on designers
and new photographers of our time as well as interviews with industry
professionals and so much more.
The Let Them Eat Cake team involves editors and designers many of who
have worked on noted publications including; Pop, Arena Homme Plus, Sleasenation,
Tank, i-D, Big, The Face, Dazed & Confused, Vogue Nippon, Vogue Russia,
L’Uomo Vogue, Ten, and Harpers Bazaar.
Let Them Eat Cake is for those who are interested in what the new generation
are doing. It is for those who want to be stimulated, and tap into the
energy they once had when starting out in an industry that belonged to
the masters before them. Let Them Eat Cake is for those that have been
holding their breath for the next generation to do something for themselves.
The term Let Them Eat Cake is known for its association with Marie Antoinette
and the French revolution. It was the Queen’s blasé remark
when told that her subjects were starving that resulted in the uprising
of the peasants, as their needs were not met. Although dismissed as a
myth, this phrase symbolises the ignorance of the elite yet a catalyst
for a new beginning. And what better an industry to use this expression
than in fashion.
We know what has come before, what is happening now and we are ready to
proclaim what we want. Let the uprising begin...for fashion's sake. |
